Cascadia Seaweed joins forces with CREW Marketing

to develop and launch the tastiest food products made from locally grown BC Seaweed!

Cascadia Seaweed is launching into the consumer packaged goods food industry and has partnered with CREW Marketing, a BC owned and operated company, to help develop the revolutionary brand.

Environmental sustainability, plant based food, and First Nations participation are 3 of the most pressing topics on consumer’s minds these days and Cascadia Seaweed’s new food brand provides an innovative solution for all three. Tasty plant- based ocean grown food that requires no fresh water or land to grow; food that is not only delicious but actually good for you packed full of nutrients including protein and B12. And food that is grown off the coast of Vancouver Island in partnership with First Nations communities.

“Cascadia Seaweed is an ideal client for us,” explains Braden Douglas, partner of CREW.

“Being ‘FOR Good’ is about the types of clients we work with and the initiatives we take on. We want to work with organizations that are passionate about people and improving lives, who believe in profitability while being radically generous and intentional with the way they conduct themselves throughout society. This is what the team at Cascadia Seaweed is all about, through and through, and that makes this the perfect collaboration.”

Plant-based jerky, seaweed snack sheets, and seaweed chips are at the forefront of development for Cascadia Seaweed as they work with a local food scientist to help develop food products made from seaweed grown in the cold, fresh, clean pristine waters of BC’s west coast.

“Seaweed has been a staple in Asian and European diets for centuries and has become a popular snack for west coasters; but this is the first time consumers will actually get to enjoy seaweed products that are sourced and produced locally, grown right here in the Pacific Ocean,” says Mike Williamson, CEO and founding partner of Cascadia Seaweed.

The future of humanity depends on a wave of change, and farming seaweed provides an opportunity for Cascadia Seaweed with support from CREW to help revitalize human health, improve coastal communities and heal the earth.

“When I learnt that CREW was actually an acronym representing their values: Character, Relationships, Execution and Wow, I knew they were the right partner for us. Their values align perfectly with ours at Cascadia Seaweed; Trust, Love, and Excellence. We are very excited to be working with CREW and can’t wait to bring our food products to market for next Spring/Summer 2021,” says Desiree Dupuis, VP Sales & Marketing and partner of Cascadia Seaweed.

The world population is continuously growing, so it is important to keep producing food in a sustainable way, especially in a way that is nutritious and in a sufficient quantity to overcome global needs.
