BC Ideas Exchange Webinar Featuring Cascadia Seaweed’s Success with the Venture Capital Tax Credit Program

On Thursday, August 20, Cascadia Seaweed will be featured in a BC Ideas Exchange webinar hosted by the Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Competitiveness, highlighting their success with the Small Business Venture Capital Tax Credit program.

The Province will share eligibility requirements and how businesses can register for the program, and Mike Williamson, CEO of Cascadia Seaweed, will share how they used the program to successfully raise over $400,000 in 2019. “The Small Business Venture Capital Tax Credit program allowed us to offer BC investors a 30% tax credit on their investment last year, and we are taking advantage of this again in 2020” says Williamson. “This is direct financial support from our Government towards the growth of our business” he adds. Cascadia Seaweed did raise additional funds in their Friends and Family round in 2019, but the majority came from BC investors benefiting from this program.

This virtual event is free and open to those who are interested in learning more about the program and how it can be utilized. Registration is required.
